Forum Rules
Here is a set of rules you have to abide by in the forum, the rules will be as simple and well-explained as they can. They are not in any particular order however they are all as important as each other.
1. Be polite: Please respect other peoples views and if you do not have anything good to say about someone then do not say it at all, constructive criticism is fine.
2. Do not flame: If someone is annoying or agitating you then you should report it to a Mod or myself, please don't flame them. You will start with an unofficial warning if you fail to follow this rule and then you will receive up to three warnings and after the third, its a temporary ban. Baiting will also result in a warning, keep at it and you just get more warnings until a ban.
3. Swearing is allowed in moderation: OOCly you are allowed to swear but keep in mind that others may not like it and if so please do not swear. Excessive swearing in OOC or IC will result in a warning unless ICly your character is like that but reasons must be given. As long as you do not go over the top, you can live happily.
4. Meta-gaming is NOT allowed. This is basically when you read someones bio for a character and you state in the Roleplay that you know everything that you have read. An example would be best.
John was a good martial artist that practiced Karate and was a black belt already. He was about to face an unknown opponent but he was ready.
He faced his opponent. The dark figure emerged and said.
"I know your style already, Black Belt at martial arts huh.. not bad."
So in this case John's opponent knew what m,martial art he studied and what belt he was without finding out IC. This is strictly prohibited.
I will put down god-modding here since it is similar. You are not allowed to god-mod in any way. This is basically making your character invincible and taking no hits at all, this also means you can't make your character hit, your opponent decides that.
For example:
God-modding - *John punched Peter and hit him right in the nose breaking it instantly, this made Peter stumble back*
You = John. Opponent = Peter = Not you.
Good roleplay - *John launched a punch at Peter aiming for his nose, if successful there is a high chance of Peter getting a broken nose.*
See the difference? Don't decide the outcome of your actions, end of.
5. No Harassing: Please don't annoy people on this site or make people do something they do not want to do, we take this rule very seriously, warnings are issued here but if the severity is high then a temporary ban may occur. If you think you might be getting harassed, please report it to a Mod or myself and it will be dealt with swiftly. We know people joke around but just make sure it is obvious, don't give the wrong impression.
6. The Cbox is a way of communicating with people on the board which is faster than PM's but please do not abuse this by harassing people on it or spamming, no advertising either.
7. The mature board is made for mature roleplay that are for adult situations that may involve sexually explicit or violent roleplay. Please do not discuss what happens in here anywhere else apart from PM's and this very board, fail to do this and warnings will be the result. Anyone may RP here but it is at their own risk if you ask for the password from me.
8. Patience is a virtue. Please be patient when it comes to waiting for approvals, it can take time for staff to look over your characters but we try to respond as quick as we can. Also when it comes to roleplay threads, be patient when you're waiting for a reply, there is a host of reason the other person may not be able to straight away.
9. The rules regarding paragraph length are as follows. In posts, one-liners are not acceptable, a couple of paragraphs minimum is all we ask, there is plenty to write about when you post in threads, smells, thoughts, sights, feelings, past events, not even mentioning what your character is going to do.
10. Do not spam. Posting irrelevant things in threads is counted as spam and will be dealt with severely unless contacted for a reason or if it was an accident. Do not repeatedly post useless things either especially in the General Chat, RP Chat and Cbox, this will also be dealt with severely. Keep things on topic and don't over post. No OOC posts in IC sections or vice-versa.
11. Please use correct punctuation and grammar. It really is not hard to do this especially with an online spell check that does the work for you. If you must, use a Word programme like Microsoft Word to type up your posts, this just makes the threads look professional and tidy.
12. You may use pictures and images from the internet as you do not claim them to be your own, this is a must.
Any questions or queries about the rules, please PM me.
